Hi,

I need to build a gene-to-GO database for all available genomes in GenBank. The idea is to perform gene enrichments based on other gene properties such as protein length, SNP presence and other interesting metadata were are interested in.

I think this is possible via UniProt because the have already assigned them for each gene. Could anyone confirm if I am in the correct direction?

Thanks, Bernardo

Sure you can get this from UniProt, but be aware that a large fraction of their GO annotations are computational, rather than by manual annotation (curation).

Thanks for your response Dan. I was looking for UniProt-GOA Proteome Set of a draft genome but seems only completed genomes are ready to download in UniProt-GOA Proteome Sets. Right?
