I like to have graph of results like those seen in research articles having error bars. How should I do this? I do not like graphs produced in excel. I'll be grateful to have ur suggestions

If you're comfortable with (or willing to learn) R-based solutions, the ddCt package in Bioconductor is worth a look.

You could search Biostar for "PCR" and especially check this question: Software For Analysing Real-Time Pcr Data

I think your answer will already be there.

Depending on the nature of your project - is it an undergraduate dissertation, Masters or Ph.D.?

If any of Masters or Ph.D. I recommend putting the time in to learn R. It is a great tool and once you master those finicky apply functions - the world is your oyster. Well, I might exaggerate a little.

The plots you are looking for are boxplots (the ones with the error bars). Launch R and type:

?boxplot

at the prompt in order to get a description of the function and it's usage. Also, a great resource to learn basic R very quickly is:

Good Luck!
