I am planning to apply for jobs in labs, research organizations and hospitals in U.S. Can anyone please guide me what are the openings for clinical specialists with bioinformatics background. I am trying my level best to join some good labs. But still I feel there are certains areas which I need to update myself before applying for jobs. Also what is the future for clinical informaticians in hospitals ? What is the future for Translational Bioinformatics, Clinical Bioinformatics. Please share your valuable insights on this.

I think clinical informatics and electronic records management is an entire subfield on its own that has very little overlap with the topics discussed on this site. I for one haven't even heard of most of the acronyms that you mention: CPT, NDC, LIONC etc
