I am looking for a journal with at least 3-4 impact factor for publishing data related to epitope mapping using bioinformatics algorithms. I have tried many good journals but all are asking for the validation of my results. I cannot go for the wet lab validation due to some unavoidable circumstances. Can anyone please suggest me some good journals with IF with or around 3. Thanks in advance.

How about BMC bioinformatics or Scientific Reports ?

Try PloS One

Thanks Chirag. But the problem is we don't have funding. We need a journal with no publication charges.

Where are you from? As far as I remember, PLoS has some special policy for low-income countries. Also check this out: http://www.plos.org/publications/publication-fees/plos-publication-fee-assistance/

Thanks for the link. But I am really worried that they might reject my work because I don't have wet lab validation of my data. As when I went through the articles they have published, bioinformatics work with experimental validation . But I will give it a try. Thanks.

You should communicate (put forward financial situations of your lab, if your lab is hosted in low-income countries) with PloS.

I'd just like to say that it is widely acknowledged that the concept of Impact Factor is in itself very flawed. See for instance wikipedia or this blog entry in nature where the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment is discussed.

So my recommendation: do not worry about impact factors at all. Make sure your paper is sound: citations will eventually decide if it is good or not, but not the IF of the journal where it happens to be accepted.

You can search the impact factor of any journal and the number of papers in published every year can be found here
