Hi all,

We have a protein where the mutation is affecting the start codon. Could someone please direct me to a tool that would help determins the second (AUG) start codon and the estimated weight of the protein.

Thanks!!

Thanks Whetting! This is helpful!

This is useful when I get the new sequence for the protein with the potential new start codon. How do I get the next possible start codon for the gene if the original is mutated?

you can just look for the first in frame ATG? Alternatively, check out ORFfinder at NCBI
