Job Description
Utilizes bioinformatics skills and expertise to design and implement a next generation sequencing analysis pipeline in the Molecular Genetics Laboratory in the Division of Laboratory Genetics and Molecular Pathology within DMC-UL that meets CLIA/CAP requirements. Works closely with the technical specialists and Laboratory Directors in the design, validation and daily operation of next generation sequencing assays. Develops software tools to facilitate NGS data analyses. Performs analyses on genomic data and reports results to Technical Directors. Liaison with the IT department to facilitate genomic information management/storage. Serves as a technical resource on next generation sequencing analysis pipelines and relates expertise to staff, Technical Directors and Medical Director. May assist in research and specialized projects as directed by Technical Directors.
Minimum Qualifications
- MS in bioinformatics or related field with expertise in programming, molecular biology and biostatistics.
- Previous experience with NGS data analysis, particularly with read alignment and variant detection in human whole exome/genome resequencing is preferred.
Work Shift: Days Benefit Status: Full Time Work Week: M-F
