Mobile element insertion detection from single-end datasets

Is anyone familiar with a tool that will detect mobile element insertions from a single-end dataset? Most of what's out there (e.g., Tangram) uses paired-end reads, which we unfortunately don't have for the samples in question (the study wasn't originally designed with this question in mind, otherwise we certainly would have made life easier and used paired-end reads). Mobster purports to be able to do this sort of thing, but it turns out that it can't actually (allegedly support for this will be incorporated into the next release). While I can certainly code something up to do this, I'd prefer not to reinvent the wheel if there's already something else out there.
