Hi,

To set a whole genome (Next gen, let say like human size ..60-70X ...500GB data) (de novo assembly and then downstream analysis like annotation, SNP call etc) sequencing data analysis lab (just a research lab), what minimum computer configure you would suggest ? How many such? In short I am looking for a bioinformatics lab design (computer hardware configuration mainly) for next gen whole genome data analysis.

Better server or cluster?

thanks,

AB

Is this one-off analysis or are you planning to do many such analyses? AWS is a great option if this analysis will be infrequent. It's pay-per-use with near zero initial investment.

Thanks. we are planing to do many sequencing ...one after another as research project (we are not going to be core facility) ....we have a long term plan to seq many samples one by one. That is why we want to set up our own lab. BTW: any link for AWS?
