Why is Plink truncating my map file after converting from bim?

Hi all,

Having a problem where when I convert my bim file to ped/map (using --bfile "file" --recode --out "pedfile") the map file that's being created is incomplete. It's about halfed from what it should be. Any idea why this is happening and how I can make this not happen again?
