Got this error while running OMA for aligning three fasta files with protein sequences

Error, (in ReadFastaWithNames) length(seqs) = length(refs), assertion failed

anyone know what this means and how to resolve it?

The (admittedly cryptic) error message is telling you that at least one of the fasta files could not be properly parsed. The number of sequences is not equal to the number of IDs. This may be the case if some of the files got truncated or if some IDs are entirely missing.

Thank you. Luckily the species I was interested in are found on the web server and I analysed my data already but this is good to know for reference.
