I'm looking into using KEGG as part of my RNA-seq research. However, I'm a first-time user of KEGG and am not familiar with the user-interface. Does anyone know of a direct ftp link to the KEGG database? According to this link (http://www.bioinformatics.jp/en/keggftp.html), I require a subscription to see a direct FTP link. However, before subscribing, I would want to see a sample of what I would be paying for. As such, I'd be interested in at least seeing the existence of a direct FTP link, which seems to not exist anywhere on the KEGG website. I'd appreciate any feedback.

It seems your comment would be best directed to KEGG. However as a licensed corporate customer of KEGG, I believe they are moving away from FTP. They have already forced us to use their API.

Depending on what you want to do with the data, you may alternatively consider using R's pathview package (http://pathview.r-forge.r-project.org/) as it uses kegg pathways.

KEGG has been changed to commercial version. No free data can be provided by any FTP server. You can use DAVID to analysis the pathway enrichment. https://david.ncifcrf.gov/
