Hello all -

Very new to all this and am currently stuck on trying to install miRdeep2_0_07 for miR-seq analysis. When I type the command perl install.pl I get the following error -

Use of uninitialized value $new in pattern match (m//) at ./install.pl line 26.
making backup of .bashrc,.bash_profile and .cshrc and removing all entries of mirdeep in those files
~/.bashrc backup is ~/.bashrc_1435093513
~/.bash_profile backup is ~/.bash_profile_1435093513
file /Users/jennifer/.cshrc.bak not found
Error:
no gcc compiler installed. Please install a gcc compiler

I've subsequently downloaded XCode and gcc is installed under /usr/bin. That still didn't work so I've also installed gcc-5.1.0 to no avail. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to solve this? I'm lost :(

What do you get when you type

I get:

/usr/bin/gcc

I've also installed miRdeep2 to the same location.
