Forum:Suggestions for small tools to add to Galaxy

I'd like to solicit suggestions/requests for (ideally small and relatively easy to compile) programs that currently aren't in the Galaxy Toolshed but might be useful if added. Some local folks are going to have a "Galaxy Developer Day" in a couple weeks, with the goal to have a bunch of developers/bioinformaticians get familiar with integrating tools into Galaxy. So if you're at least vaguely familiar with what's available in Galaxy and can think of a nice thing that should be added then please post it as an answer.

All reasonable suggestions will receive up votes!

http://genometools.org they have a nice suite of tools for working with GFF3. I'd meant to get around to them (hence them being on the IUC's TODO list), but hadn't yet.

Thanks, I'll add that to the suggestions.

The IUC TODO list that Eric linked is also a nice resource of tools with need of wrapping.

Agreed, I probably should have mentioned that we're doing this with Björn Grüning, who's also one of the IUC folks.

I suggest... cough BBDuk.

I'll suggest that. I was actually thinking about many of the BBMap tools. Are many/any in Galaxy already? If not, I'd just add everything in there to the list as well.

Nope, none are in Galaxy currently.

Are there any updates for BBmap, BBDuk, BBMerge, Reformat etc in Galaxy Tool Shed, I will love to see them available :)

If you look in the 'Tool Requests' list on our Trello board (https://trello.com/b/75c1kASa/galaxy-development) you can find other tool ideas to consider.
