Hi all,

I have a basic knowledge of perl and I occasionally use perl scripts to manage and process data, currently am trying to open multiple, tab separated files from a given folder and print the columns with the given string into a single file.

here is a small example of the input file :

Col1 alpha1 alpha2 beta11

a    4    2    T
b    2    5    T
c    6    6    F
d    3    7    T

for each file I want only columns which has header alpha.

can someone help me regarding this issue.

Thankings in anicipation

Hi Ryan,

My apologies if the post is inappropriate, I just started with Biostar and I work with NGS data, and the file I actually want to process is a NGS output called TargetedQC file. I have given an example just for the feel of the file I want to analyze. So should it not be considered?

Not really, no. This is just a perl question. Post it to stackoverflow and make sure to demonstrate having tried a solution.
