Dear all,

Here are my questions that I hope you'd be able to help to elucidate:

  1. Are there any difference between the term "missense mutation" , "natural variants" and "SNPs"? If yes, what are the differences?
  2. In human BDNF gene, we are aware of the presence of hundreds of SNPs. However there at least 5 or 6 categorized as natural variants (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P23560#subcellular_location). Are these variants referring to non-synonymous SNPs a.k.a missense mutation?

Pardon me for this very basic questions.

Kind regards,
Vic
