Hi all,

I want to use the supervised analysis with ADMIXTURE but I don't know how to create or to find or to get the file .pop that is needed to run the analysis. And then what should be the supposed steps following that if I want to know which population(s) is the ancestry(ies) of the populations that I am studying? Could anyone help me?

Thank you very much

Hello. Did you manage how to generate the .pop files?

Hey!

Check the manual page 9, it contains a minimal example of what a pop file should look like. You have to generate it using your foreknowledge of the origin of the individuals.

Once you have run admixture, there is a file containing a 2D matrix with the fractions for each component for each individual.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gabriel,

Thank you for the answer. I red this manual page 9 but the .pop file doesn't seem like a simple .txt file? the .pop file is like another file having as extension .pop
