The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences is one of four schools in the Faculty of Sciences. Located at the University's Roseworthy campus, approximately 50 km north of Adelaide, it is South Australia's only veterinary school and an internationally renowned centre for excellence in animal production.The JS Davies Research Centre is being developed at the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Roseworthy to deliver the high impact research in the area of animal genetics and genomics.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the ongoing development of a bioinformatics core team. The mission of the bioinformatics team is to provide state of the art bioinformatics capability, to develop novel bioinformatics methodology and deliver high impact basic and applied science in the fields of agriculture and biomedicine and environmental science.

This position will be recruited at Research Level A or B and the successful applicant will be a researcher with experience in bioinformatics applied to biological problems and who has shown an aptitude for innovation and the creation of bioinformatics solutions typically related to transcriptome profiling, differential gene expression, genome wide association studies, network reconstruction, variant calling, genome assembly and metagenomics.
