Just a quick question, what sort of epigenetic data people usually use in case of control-disease studies? DNA methylation data or histone modification data?

Biological Question: I want to take epigenomic and transcriptomic datasets for disease and control samples and want to analyse them to see what additional information I get from epigenetic data. So I am not sure what sort of epigenetic data I should look for, methylation or histone modification?

if you mean DMR, then is automatically means differentially methylated regions and therefore it is DNA methylation data

I meant (e.g DMRs in methylation data).
