A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Fish Genetics and Breeding Laboratory at the Ohio State University South Centers. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:
(1) Analyzing RAD, RNA and/or whole genome sequencing data in fish, and/or
(2) The generation of comprehensive linkage maps and identification of QTLs using microsatellite and SNP markers for economically important traits in fish.
Requirements: PhD in animal/population genetics, genomics or a closely related discipline. Candidates should have a bioinformatic background (DNA/RNA sequence analysis and/or mapping data analysis) and proficiency in relevant software packages. Candidates are expected to have excellent organizational, writing and communication skills; experience with SNP analyses (bioinformatic and/or mapping analysis) preferred; proven ability to set deadlines and meet milestones. The candidate should be comfortable working with graduate students and other team members.
This position is available for 1 year with the possibility of extension. Commencement of duties: January 2016.
