Hey. I have a trivial problem I think.

Can I and how can I do the search query against ONLY human sequences in database (for exp. refseq_protein)?

I can't find nothing about that in blast help or I cant understand something...

Can u help?

You could filter the results for human hits

or

1. Create a list of gi's for human from refseq_protein using blastdbcmd (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK279689/).

2. You could then use the "gilist" option with your local blast search using the list from #1 or if you intend to do the searches regularly create a subset blast database using blastdb_aliastool: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK279693/
