here is a situation. I have a protein sequence and I want to know the CpG island in that. Can I do that or I can only do it if I have DNA sequence also. If I can do that can you suggest me any tool for it?

1) If you know the genomic position of that protein, intersect the position of protein with CpGI. You can use GALAXY web services to intersect, if you are not familiar with unix tools. Then you know if your protein overlaps CpGI or not.

2) If you do not know the gneomic position of your protein, convert protein to DNA (use some web services )and map it the genome (use BLAT from UCSC genome browser) and you have genomic positions. Continue as 1.
