The Blue Brain Project, led by Prof.Henry Markram, is looking for a PostDoctoral Researcher - Text mining
Specific responsibilities include:
- Build and update lexical and semantic resources to describe neuroscientific data from mining the scientific literature
- Build automated and semi-automated curation workflows leveraging existing tools, to accelerate the extraction and curation of information about neurons, brain regions and disease from the literature
- Develop and extend SciGraph annotation service to suggest ontological annotations for experimental methods
- Integrate OpenMinTed text mining tools and infrastructure to support the development of curation and knowledge integration workflows
- Lead and manage the collaboration with OpenMinTeD consortium
- Implement best-practices for maintainable software development, including but not limited to: continuous integration, documentation, adherence to and improvement of coding standards
Experience and preferred skills:
- Expertise in NLP and processing large volumes of textual information
- Expertise in Python and Java
- Experience with UIMA framework
- Agile software development, testing
Profile:
- PhD degree in NLP or equivalent
- Strong communications and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and spoken English. French would be a plus
