Hi All,

Since we cannot use dropbox link anymore, i tried setting up a localhost to upload data to UCSC genome browser as custom track. but for some reason http://localhost/data.bw cannot be opened. Any solutions you guys are aware of? or any other way to upload datafile without an ftp site?

Thanks so much!!

Are you literally using "localhost", or is that just a placeholder for the real address?

Other than the localhost resolution @Devon mentioned, you would also need to consider local firewall rules since inbound port 80 access from UCSC browser (there are ~5 IP's or so) would need to be allowed on the host you have put the files on.

Have you thought in having your data on the newly released Track Hub Registry? Then you could try adding tracks to Ensembl or any other GUI.
