Postdoctoral positions are available in Vahedi Lab in the Department of Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution and one of the top 5 medical research universities in the nation. The primary focus of the Vahedi lab is on developing novel computational methods for the integration of epigenomics data sets. Our lab is a hybrid of wet and dry and is focused on gene regulation in T cells; our recent efforts on single-cell chromatin accessibility mapping necessitate the development of novel computational techniques to understand cell fate determination and gene regulation in single-cell levels.
A qualified candidate will be a strongly motivated individual with following qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in either physical or computational sciences with an emphasis in machine learning.
- Solid programming skills (Python/Perl, C/C++, R, SQL)
- Computational genomics experience (high throughput sequence analysis).
