Is normalization mandatory for read counts in RNA-seq experiments samples?

I don't have any replicates of my RNA-Seq sample, is it mandatory to normalize the read counts? because when I used NOISeq QC report, it reported that without any normalized method diagnostic method is passed.

Some form of normalization is more or less always needed. Having said that, with no replicates the results of any method will be at best of marginal utility.
