What is "SPOT" and "BASES" in SRA database

I have downloaded this file for RNA-seq analysis in SRA database.

ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 4000) run: 28.7M spots, 8.6G bases, 3.3Gb downloads Accession: SRX1604705

what does 'spot' and 'base' mean exactly in SRA database?

Spots --> Clusters that generated sequence. Bases --> Like the name says nucleotides.
