Hello all,

This may be already answered, but I could not find anything addressing this particular question. I am blasting contigs of a de novo genome assembly against the data base to determine which organism is most similar. However, in the blast results, I get metrics of how similar each separate contig is to other sequences. What I would like is an average of how similar all the contigs are to a particular genome. Any advice on this?

Many Thanks.

you can check most abundant genome in the result and calculate the coverage with respect that (coverage would be relative as blast reports HSPs).
