Hello,

New to this site, but looking for a public source of information/database that would allow me translate rsDNA to common name SNP's and then obtain recommendations for supplementation for those SNP's.

Any information is helpful. I looked at SNPedia and NCBI, but it wasn't' clear how to query for this topic.

Thank you, D

I'm not sure what you mean with rsDNA and common name SNPs, can you share some examples? Perhaps you mean the rs identifiers from dbSNP with the first part?

(Although uncertain about what exactly you want, probably BioMart from Ensembl is (a part of) the solution)

ANNOVAR (http://annovar.openbioinformatics.org/en/latest/) should allow you to convert rsIDs to most other common types of IDs. I'm not sure what the exact conversion you are looking for, but looking into ANNOVAR might help.

Thank you!

For example rs4680 (Val158Met) is a well-studied SNP in the COMT. Most raw data coming from 23 and me and other companies report it the raw data form. I know there are companies like Genetic genie that translate, but I'm interested in translating myself and figuring out supplements that might be helpful.

Would ANNOVAR or BIOmart help?

Thanks,
