I want to find experimental target genes of a miRNA. When i am going to find target genes of a miRNA e.x. hsa-miR-100 the results is for hsa-miR-100-3p and hsa-miR-100-5p. which of them is result of my question? hsa-miR-100-5p or hsa-miR-3p ? thanks

Hi The miRBase id: has-miR-100 was earlier used. Now, it has been replaced by hsa-miR-100-5p. Reference: http://www.mirbase.org/cgi-bin/mirna_entry.pl?acc=MI0000102. It is always better to refer the mature miRNA sequence to cross verify the ids.

Additionally, if you are finding it difficult to get validated targets of miRNAs, I would recommend to visit miRWalk2 website: http://zmf.umm.uni-heidelberg.de/apps/zmf/mirwalk2/holistic.html and download the relevant files.
