Hi all,

Despite the fact that I have read a decent amount on the topic, I'm struggling to find a paper on Computational Biology in which I am particularly keen (this is for an application, but it would also be interesting just to know what are the most recent breakthroughs).

Could you recommend some, preferably recent? (this is a topic similar to these two from 2010: 1 2, in which some of the 'classical' papers are already mentioned).

Thank you.

Utilization of MinHash technique in compression of large sequence databases to "sketches" is quite promising. I'm not qualified to say how significant their work is in CS context, but the speed-up for real world stuff is huge.

Preprint be here.
