Problem with checkVCF

Hi, I'm trying to run checkVCF in the terminal with the example files, but I have the current message error. (Terminal, mac os Sierra 10.12.2)

    python checkVCF.py -r hs37d5.fa -o example.vcf.gz 

 File "checkVCF.py", line 5
        <!DOCTYPE html>
        ^
    SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Which python version?

thanks for your help the python version is 2.7.10 and checkvcf is 1.3

I see there is a newer version, could you try checkvcf.py 1.4?

Although it's late, could you please let me know if "checkVCF" worked well with hg38 and the related index?
