Hi I want to parse the BLASTX result which is in the -outfmt 6 tabular format saved in a ms excel file and I want to filter the result on the basis of pident >= 70% and E-value (10 e-2) with the help of perl script. How can I do this?

There is no excel format in blast, please explain what you have tried. Excel is not a bioinformatics application.

Why not just filter in excel? I assume you mean the output format is tabular (-m8 or -outfmt 6) and you imported it to excel.
