The ISCB Student Council is excited to announce the Student Council Symposium (SCS) 2017 which will be held on July 21, 2017, preceding ISMB/ECCB 2017, in Prague, Czech Republic. Following success of our previous symposiums, the SCS 2017 brings you an exciting program with a goal to highlight latest research from a wide variety of sub-fields of bioinformatics and computational biology.

The symposium will includes keynote talks, post-doc/student talks, and a poster session. In addition, there will be a session of flash presentations. These fast-paced, five minute presentations are designed to direct keen delegates to poster presentations. There will also be an evening social event following the symposium; a great way to network and get to know fellow attendees in a more casual setting, especially if you are staying for the rest of ISMB/ECCB.

Abstract submission is currently open! Please visit http://symposium.iscbsc.org/scs2017-abstract-call All abstracts will be peer-reviewed for talks and posters. Following the trends of recent years, travel fellowships will be available and all presenting authors (talk/poster) are welcome to apply. Please visit our website http://symposium.iscbsc.org/ regularly as more information will be announced soon.

The ISCB Student Council Symposium, Prague 2017, welcomes students and early-career researchers from all areas of computational biology to join our community. Only the participation of researchers and future scientists can make this event a success. Please help us spread the word by sharing this message, and using the hashtag #SCS17 on social media.

We look forward to welcoming you in Prague, Czech Republic this summer!
