Putting new IDs on imputed data

I have imputed data contain in one .sample file and 23 .impute files.

Does the row order of the .sample file matter?

For example, if I change the ID numbers in columns 1 and 2, and then sort the file according to the new IDs, will this cause problems?

I solved my own problem, using the description of the file formats here.

Yes, the row order does matter, because:

"The order of individuals in the genotype file should match the order of the individuals in the sample file"
