Hi. I am looking to run a blast query of some nucleotide sequences against an insect protein database to test for functional enrichment using the -blastx command. I've tried to find some insect protein databases and found some such as http://www.insect-genome.com/, but I am unsure which one is the best to use and which exactly are files I need to download which will be compatible with blastx. Can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks,

go to the NCBI taxonomy insect: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Browser/wwwtax.cgi?mode=Info&id=50557&lvl=3&lin=f&keep=1&srchmode=1&unlock

on the left , got to the protein page

button 'send to' -> file/fasta

download and make the blastdb for this fasta file
