Hi

I've recently installed a galaxy instance to my local computer, and I'm trying to upload a large local fastq file (~20GB) to the instance, from the same computer. However, I can't find a relatively quick way of doing this. I've searched Biostars for information, but the links to detailed Galaxy upload information seem to be dead.

It seems like this shouldn't be a particularly difficult thing to do, but it eludes me. I'm new to Galaxy, so please bare with me. Thanks!

Andy

What genomax2 said, but really you can also just make a directory named after whatever your login ID is in the directory specified by ftp_upload_dir in galaxy.ini and then its contents will show up in the upload section under "Choose FTP file".

BTW, there's a separate site dedicated to Galaxy.

Use a data library. You do not even have to copy/duplicate the file, it can just be symlinked and used instantly. See how to do it here: https://galaxyproject.org/data-libraries/#from-user-folder
