I am currently reading a paper that employs machine learning based techniques to predict driver mutations. In this paper, it is written that, this method is highly enriched with known drivers, (p<10^-14). Can someone explain to me the significance of p value in this case?

The p-value always has the same interpretation - the chance of obtaining a result equal to or more extreme than what was actually observed.
