Question: (Closed) WTSI Mutational Signature Framework: matlabpool function

I am trying to use WTSI Mutational Signature Framework from Alexandrov L. to deconstruct some mutation patterns.

Unfortunately I am not familiar at all with matlab. I got from my university a version 2017 and tried to run one of the examples to fall on this error:

Undefined function or variable 'matlabpool'.

Error in decipherMutationalProcesses (line 20)
   totalCores = matlabpool('size');

It seems to be linked to the function decipherMutationalProcesses calling for a number of core through matlabpool. But matlabpool is now replaced by parpool in newer version of matlab.

Does anyone knows how to deal with this? Or the only solution is to take a compatible older version of matlab ?

A little late but since I'm facing the same situation... Some good soul seems to have ported the WTSI Mutational Signature Framework to R, see mutSignatures and SomaticSignatures.

(P.S. I would vote to re-open this question)
