Hello everyone,

The PATRIC database, has two possible 'Genome statuses': 'Complete', or 'WGS'. Since the are currently 95,613 'WGS' genomes and only 8,178 'Complete' genomes in the database, I believe it is reasonable to assume that the 'Complete' genomes are more complete than 'WGS' :) .

Since my thesis is going to be based on these genomes, I need to properly define the difference between the 2 statuses. I searched everywhere I could to no avail. Can anyone help with the definitions?

Cheers!

can't you just email them and ask?

  1. I did, and they haven't replied.
  2. I thought that it could be useful for this distinction to be available somewhere, so when other people search for it, they'll get somewhere..
