Hello Everybody,

I have to find full-length LTR-retrotransposon from the publicly available assembled database. Can anybody please suggest me suitable tools and procedure. I have just started today and have no idea where to start. I know some tools like LTR-finder, LTR-harvester. But those are Linux based. Currently, I am a windows user. And want to try something in windows. For your information, I have the access to Geneious. So I can easily do sequence blast and so on. What do you think that it will be a good idea to use publicly available consensus LTR sequence for blast search??/

Your set of restrictions (windows, Geneious) makes it unlikely you will get any suggestions, as they probably don't match the skill set of Biostars users.
