I am trying to evaluate albumin toxicity on adherent epithelial cells (opossum kidney) at various concentrations of albumin.

I have tried resazurin assay (AKA CellTiter-Blue or AlamarBlue), but the protocol yields incomprehensible data.

Further literature search showed interference of bovine serum albumin and serum proteins on both AlamarBlue and MTT assays to decrease reduction of these metabolic reagents (Goegan et al, 1994).

Any ideas on other viability protocols with greater objectivity than Trypan Blue and less albumin artefact/interference than MTT/XTT/AlamarBlue?
