FYI a new Alexa skill called "MolecularTV" provides a voiced-based interface to Protein Data Bank data using Amazon's recently released Echo Show device. The skill is free to use for anyone with an Amazon Echo Show device. For example, you can say "DISPLAY STRUCTURE 4HHB" to see an information screen about that entry or "RANDOM" to see a random entry. Or, you could say "FIND CASPASES" to do a keyword search of the PDB database. It's currently mostly a proof-of-concept ,experimental service, but I would welcome feedback to harden it. There is some complexity behind the scenes about query recognition and the skill uses a combination of queries to a custom local SQL Server metadata database and to a public PDB API; the most recent entries are presented in the form of a short animated "Protein story" video, other entries display static information. Structure authors are selectable and drill down to a listing of entries by that author.
