From where did you obtain this gene ID? - which program?; which person? which company? which planet or Universe?

i obtained this gene ID from a geodataset. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSM2263411

There's a name and an email address on that record, did you try that?

For OP: I did my own investigating and found this page ( from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSM2263411 ) that lists all probes on the microarray platform used by the authors. All probe IDs have the prefix Cust and it appears to be a random name assingment.

For CUST_735_PI427486876 the information is:

ID COL ROW NAME SPOT_ID CONTROL_TYPE ACCESSION_STRING CHROMOSOMAL_LOCATION SEQUENCE

4901 67 39 CUST_735_PI427486876 CUST_735_PI427486876 FALSE lcl|NC_009085.1_gene_747 unmapped GTTGGTTTAGCTCCGACAGTATCTTTAGCTGAACCTGTTTCAGTGGCATTAGGAGTGTAA

5501 63 151 CUST_735_PI427486876 CUST_735_PI427486876 FALSE lcl|NC_009085.1_gene_747 unmapped GTTGGTTTAGCTCCGACAGTATCTTTAGCTGAACCTGTTTCAGTGGCATTAGGAGTGTAA

10152 35 33 CUST_735_PI427486876 CUST_735_PI427486876 FALSE lcl|NC_009085.1_gene_747 unmapped GTTGGTTTAGCTCCGACAGTATCTTTAGCTGAACCTGTTTCAGTGGCATTAGGAGTGTAA

12551 20 155 CUST_735_PI427486876 CUST_735_PI427486876 FALSE lcl|NC_009085.1_gene_747 unmapped GTTGGTTTAGCTCCGACAGTATCTTTAGCTGAACCTGTTTCAGTGGCATTAGGAGTGTAA

A Nucleotide BLAST search of the sequence confirms that it maps 100% to the genome of Acinetobacter baumannii. A blastx search tells me that this probe is targeting a gene whose function appears to relate to a NADH-quinone oxidoreductase subunit
