Hello masters! I have a general question about bioinformatics. It seems to me the core important part in the bioinformatics is the scientific question you want to resolve. But if the same question and the same data, will different kinds of analysis make great sense on the publication impactor factor?

I'm just a bit curious and hope this will not be interpreted as utilitarian. Thank you in advance.

If you come up with a better mouse trap, it still should ideally catch mice, if not do a better job.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding the question but how is different analysis of same data going to affect impact factor? At best the effect would be indirect (which journal you manage to publish in).

The impact factor (IF) is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year. It is used to measure the importance or rank of a journal by calculating the times it's articles are cited.
