What's new in the 18.04 release

Latest bioinformatics software

Conda is now used to install most bioinformatics software. An environment called as bioenv is setup with the latest available versions of bedtools, blast, bowtie2, bwa, clustalo, cutadapt, fastqc, fastx_toolkit, mummer, muscle, primer3, samtools and trimmomatic. (complete list of software)

Updated Galaxy configuration

Galaxy's configuration has been updated to support Docker. Simple commands for management (start-galaxy, stop-galaxy and restart-galaxy) have been added. (more information)

Documentation & Support

Online documentation is available at:

If you have any questions that are not answered in the documentation, please post them on Biostars with the tag biovm. If you notice any bugs, please report them on Github.

Recommendations for installing new software
