We are seeking two motivated and experience bioinformaticians to develop bioinformatics research and support capabilities. As part of The University of Adelaide Bioinformatics Hub you will work with staff and students in a cross-faculty and interdisciplinary manner supporting research groups to analyse and interpret large-scale biological datasets, as well as develop and publish novel analytic or computational techniques.
The positions will have responsibility for maintaining productive collaborations and interactions with research staff, providing guidance and support for staff and students working on projects across the Robinson Research Institute, the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, the School of Agriculture Food & Wine, the School of Biological Sciences and SAHMRI, as relevant for each position. Additionally, the roles will implement computational biology teaching activities (running training workshops, providing documentation etc.) and help develop bioinformatics research infrastructure such as high-performance computing and structured datasets. Activities of the Bioinformatics Hub typically involve transcriptomic profiling and differential gene expression, biological network construction, genome-wide association studies, variant calling, methylomic analysis, population genomics and phylogenetic reconstruction, genome assembly and metagenomics.

University Research Fellow (Level B)
The successful incumbent will be expected to work closely with staff and students across The University, with a key focus on the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine (AFW) based at the Waite Campus.
Salary: Level B ($96,135 to $113,788) per annum.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.
Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately until 30 June 2020.

This position will be working primarily within the Adelaide BioMed City Precinct (ABMC), which includes The University of Adelaide’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (AHMS), the Robinson Research Institute (RRI) and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).
Salary: Level A ($67,894 to $91,425) or Level B : ($96,135 to $113,788) per annum, commensurate with experience.
Superannuation: An employer contribution of 9.5% applies.
Term of position: This fixed-term contract is available immediately until 30 June 2020.
