Hi, I;m looking for genome-browse like tool. I need to have a possiblity to load genome from fasta file, select region by adding primer sequences and add genes and rs... snps/another mutations. Mostly for clinical genomic purpose. I know IGV, but there is no way to add for example primers as separate track.

thanks d.

why would there not be any option to load primers?

IGV simply reads and displays every gff (or other format) data in a track.

Have you considered Geneious?

When you suggest a commercial/paid program it is useful to indicate that clearly. Majority of people are looking for free options and it can save them a few clicks.

When I was in grad school, Geneious had a free version that could handle fasta sequences and primers. Looks like this isn't the case anymore.

To work with an annotated genome you can use UGENE Sequence View.
