Roles & Responsibilities

A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr Wilson Goh, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The main purpose of this position is to use bioinformatics, in particular, network-based approaches to decipher pathways related to the unfolded protein response (UPR) across different species. You will work closely with synthetic and molecular biologists, who will be responsible for validating the predictions you make in model organisms.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing analysis and/or development of approaches to deliver results towards achieving the aims of the study
  • To act as a liaison point for communicating and presenting experimental results to the collaborative team in China

Requirements

  • Possess at least a B.Sc. degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology (A degree in Computer Science but with relevant work experience is also welcome)
  • In-depth knowledge in network alignment techniques is highly desired
  • Good planning, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Must be resourceful, proactive, with a good working attitude
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a group
  • Interested candidates are required to submit their CV along with a brief research interest statement and two letters of recommendation.
