Dr. Sheng Li’s lab at JAX-GM in Hartford, CT area is seeking a computational biology postdoctoral associate who is interested in studying cancer functional genomics. The Li Lab’s primary interests are computational biology and machine learning with a focus on functional genomics in normal and cancer systems. For additional information, visit the Li Lab online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop principled methods, based on machine learning and advanced statistical modeling techniques to address biological questions.
  • Analyze massive functional genomics data at single cell and population levels.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Computational Biology, or related quantitative area.
  • A strong background in machine learning or substantial experience analyzing large genomic datasets.
  • Programming experience in R, Python, or C++.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and enthusiastic about science.

Salary is competitive and will be supplemented with funding for computational equipment and for attending national and international conferences.
