Haploview cannot connect to HapMap Database

Hi,

I am trying to use Broad Institute's Haploview to load some data. Under "HapMap Download" tab, I enter the version, release, chromosome number, analysis panel (population of interest), and the location range on the chromosome. Then I get the following error "Could not connect to HapMap database". Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Is this error occuring because HapMap is archived since people think 1000 Genomes Project overshadows HapMap? Even if the database is archived, it is still accessible, though but perhaps the location has changed? I tried to contact support for Haploview but Broad Institute's page says "Haploview is currently on a development and support freeze. The team is currently looking at a variety of options in order to provide support for the software." So it seems like there is no one to contact for support.

Alternatively, does anyone know of tools similar to Haploview that I could use instead?

Thanks.

I would honestly just contact the HaploView team directly. It is likely that your question will go unanswered.

Their email is: haploview@broadinstitute.org
